Christopher's Ordination

Here is a picture of my 3 Mickelsen guys!! They look so handsome, don't they?! Christopher's birthday was April 9th and he turned the big 12!! Oma and Opa came out for the special occasion too!! Have I told all of you what incredible in-laws I have! They are here for everything!! I love you both so much! Thanks Mom and Dad we really appreciate you being here (especially since that was the 3rd trip you have made already to Indianapolis this year)!! Well, Christopher was ordained on Sunday, April 13th. Rich ordained him and Grandpa Wright and Opa were both able to help too! (along with others as well)! It was a very special day for our family and especially for Christopher! We are so proud of you Christopher!

Happy Mother's Day

I had a fabulous Mother's Day! I got to sleep in...YEA!! Rich got up with the kids and they made me breakfast in bed! They made me french toast (my favorite). Rich made a Dr. Pepper roast that morning too and had it in cooking while we were at church! It was DELICIOUS!!!! This is a picture of a cake the kids made me on Saturday night. I had mad a BIG wedding cake on Saturday and made an extra sheet cake. So when we got home from the reception, I let the kids take the extra icing and ice the cake. This is what they did...they had so much fun doing it and I loved the end result!! Also, Rich got me a present...I finally got a label maker!! YEA!!!! I have wanted one for a very long time! It is really nice and I love it!! One of my favorite Mother's day moments was listening to Rich give his talk in sacrament meeting on Mother's day and bear his testimony of the gospel! Let's just say...INCREDIBLE!! Thanks Rich and kiddos for the best Mother's Day ever... I LOVE YOU!!!!

Zoo Day 4.5.08

We went to the zoo, during spring break, on Saturday with Dad too. It was a beautiful day. The highlight of the day was petting the sharks I think. The kids loved that, especially Katelyn. Brittaney loves the dolphins, Christopher loves the penguins, Kehli loves the monkeys, Brenden loves the elephants, and Katelyn loves the sharks. One sad thing...a few days after we went to the zoo, our beloved polar bear died! He was so playful...there were big stairs right in front of the glass and my kids would sit there all day and watch him, if I would let them. He would come right up to the glass and then push off and come back and just play around. He was very entertaining. He has been there since we moved here (14 years ago). Anyway, we will miss him during our future visits to the zoo. I'm glad the kids got to see him one last time! Anyway, we had a FABULOUS day at the zoo!!

Children's Museum 4.4.08

Over spring break we decided to go to the children's museum. The kids love going there and we hadn't been in awhile. I wasn't sure at first how I felt about taking 6 kids by myself on Friday during spring break (crowded is an understatement), but I did it and we survived. In fact, we did more than survive...we had a blast and the kids were AWESOME!! Here are a few pictures from our day... First, we went to the Curious George (or as my little ones call him...Monkey George) exhibit. Christopher seems thrilled to have his picture taken with Curious George! Don't let his face fool you, he had a fabulous time too!!We also went to the Dinosaur exhibits too. The kids got to draw dinosaurs. There was this incredible three story dinosaur exhibit that you would just have to see to believe... We saw the racecar (of course, we do live in Indianapolis) and the kids got to sit in it. Then we all went and rode on the carousel. We had a great time together!!

Cheri's Cakes!

Here are some of the cakes that I have made over the years. I love making cakes. I don't have pictures of all of them on this computer, but these were a few of my favorites. I have a lot of favorites... The hardest part about making cakes, especially for other people, is keeping my kids away from the cake. I have only had one serious issue...let's just say I wound up having to make another cake, but the little ones really enjoyed the first one!! haha My mom always made all of our birthday cakes so I grew up not knowing that you can buy cakes from a store...who knew! However, I really don't like store-bought cakes...they just don't taste very good to me. My Mom spoiled me with her cakes I guess!! She made AMAZING cakes. I remember one time I had croup really bad and I got to stay up with her and watch her make this huge wedding cake...INCREDIBLE!! You're awesome MOM!! Thank you for all of the cakes over the years...loved them!! Anyway, just thought I would share one of the things I love to do with you...hope you enjoy the pictures!!

This is a picture of us the night of Kehli's baptism-Sept. 22, 2007. We had been out on the soccer fields all day and so we were all a little rosy! Tayler was a week old. It was a very busy time for us!! :) Busy, but VERY SPECIAL!!!! Katelyn will love this picture when she's older.

M-Marriage Date: Married June 12, 1992 / Sealed June 16, 1992 (this is when we celebrate our anniversary)! 16 years this June...YEAH!!
N- Number of Siblings: 4 -1 older sister, 2 younger sisters, and 1 (you heard it right)...just one brother.
O- Oranges or apples: Apples...I hate peeling oranges.
P- Phobias or Fears: Heights, something happening to my kids or Rich, and I really don't like tornados either.

R- Reason to Smile: my kids are awesome, Rich loves me, I only live 5 minutes from my parents, school is almost out, it is warming up outside, I only have 1 more kid to potty-train, Rich is going to ordain Christopher next month, Mom and Dad are coming back next month, Tayler sleeps for 12 hours at night, I can play the piano, I can give my family hugs...they give them back to me, hearing the words I LOVE YOU! I could keep going, but I won't...
S- Season: Summer because school is out and my kids are home. The weather is fabulous too and I can wear sandals every day.
T- Tag Seven: hmmm - I will say: Kyla, Elizabeth, Angie, Carri, Ada, Crystal W., and Julianne.
U- Unknown Fact about Me: I love running, but haven't since dinosaurs roamed the earth. However, I am planning on trying to run a full marathon next year...I know...CRAZY!!
V- Vegetarian or Meat Lover: I love veggies, but definitely meat lover.
W- Worst Habit: I keep EVERTHING (especially clothes)...however, I am getting much better at getting rid of things and Goodwill loves me.
X- X Rays or Ultrasounds: Ultrasounds. I don't know that I have ever had an X-ray other than at the dentist. However, like Nicki, ultrasounds remind me of when I was pregnant with each of my kids...oh the memories!!
Y- Your Favorite Food: I LOVE German food, but I don't have that very often so I would have to say ICE CREAM!! That is my weakness...
